Gage Pulkrabek advances into season opener at Knoxville Raceway

Gage Pulkrabek traveled to the Land of Lincoln over the weekend as Jacksonville Speedway hosted the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series for the Hy-Vee Perks 40.

After a ninth-place finish in his heat race, Pulkrabek's night concluded in the Last Chance Showdown, where he climbed three positions to finish 10th in the 12-lap sprint. Though he fell short of a feature berth, Pulkrabek showed late-race pace and valuable progression against a stacked field.

Shifting gears on Saturday, Pulkrabek returned to Iowa's Knoxville Raceway for its long-awaited season opener. He posted the 12th-fastest qualifying time and grabbed a third-place finish in his heat race. Rolling off from the 10th row in the A-Main, he brought home a 21st-place result to cap off a weekend of competitive laps and continued development.
